Bong-Seok Choi
CIO
Bong is the CIO of Mount Ocean Partners. Bong also serves as the CIO for a select number of single families, multi-family offices, and RIAs. Previously, he held the role as the CIO of FJ Management, where he was responsible for building FJ’s non-operating investment platform. Prior to FJ, Bong served as CIO of Wetherby Asset Management, a multi-billion wealth management firm. Before Wetherby, he spent nearly 20 years as an allocator and direct investor at single and multi-family offices, including Capricorn Management and Stamos Capital, and asset management firms, such as Wellington Management and Orion Partners. Bong began his career in M&A investment banking at The Beacon/Bridgeford Group. Bong received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Yale University. He is a CFA and CAIA charterholder. Bong also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Utah School & Institutional Trust Funds Office and the Investment Committee of Western Governors University.


Wyatt Courtney
Managing Member
Wyatt is the Managing Partner of Mount Ocean Partners. Prior to launching Mount Ocean, he provided capital formation and operations consulting to Asto Consumer Partners, an early-stage CPG growth private equity firm in Austin, TX. From
2018-2024, Wyatt was a founding partner and led capital formation for Long Path Partners, a public and private equity investment firm focused on lower middle-market enterprise software. Wyatt spent the first 17 years of his career with Brown Brothers
Harriman & Co. in a variety of business development, strategy, and operations roles, eventually serving as Managing Director and Head of US and European Business Development for institutions and intermediaries. Wyatt received his MS from Boston University and his BA from Connecticut College.


Ash Thaker

Mount Ocean exclusively partners with Ash Thaker of Luman Partners in Austin,TX, for advisory services across Operations, Finance, and Technology. Ash hasbuilt and optimized trading and investment platforms at both global banks andleading hedge funds. Prior to Lumen, he was the COO/CFO/CCO at Deccan Value Investors and Sakonnet Point Capital. Ash was a trader at Blue Ridge Capital LP between 2013-2018 and spent 13 years at Credit Suisse on the portfolio trading and algorithmic trading team. Ash received his bachelor’s in mathematics and
economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
